This theater-focused day camp introduces children to the fundamentals of performance in an engaging and encouraging setting. At ACT ONE Theatre Camp, the atmosphere is lively and expressive, with campers invited to experiment with voice, movement, and character work. Activities are designed to feel welcoming and playful rather than competitive or high-pressure.
Daily programming centers on interactive theater exercises that help campers understand storytelling and stage presence. Campers participate in group games, scene work, and creative challenges that encourage communication and collaboration. The structure keeps kids active and involved while allowing space for imagination and creative risk-taking. Instructors guide activities with encouragement, helping campers feel comfortable sharing ideas and performing in front of others.
A defining element of the experience is its focus on personal growth. Campers practice listening, supporting peers, and expressing themselves clearly. Working together toward shared creative goals helps build both confidence and teamwork skills.
This camp is best suited for elementary- and middle-school–aged children, generally ages 6–15, especially those who enjoy acting, storytelling, and creative group activities.
