Dana Point, CA, USA
KG Beach Camps has been a beloved fixture in the Dana Point Harbor community since 1987, offering day-camp programs that combine ocean adventure, creativity, and discovery. With three age-tailored camps — Mini Minnows (ages 4–6), Beach Safari (ages 6–9), and H2O Adventure (ages 9–13) — every child can find the right mix of fun and challenge. The camp’s atmosphere is safe yet free-spirited: think beach games, tide-pool expeditions, crab hunting, kayaking, sailing, rowing, and even whale-watching aboard a catamaran. Counselors encourage campers to engage, explore, and grow, inspiring kindness, curiosity, and confidence. The camp’s flexible schedule (half- and full-day options) makes it accessible for working families. At the same time, its wide variety of activities ensures that campers leave with both new skills and summer-long memories.
KG Beach Camps also tailors its approach to meet the developmental needs of each age group, allowing younger campers to build comfort at the beach. In comparison, older campers take on greater responsibility and embark on more adventurous activities. The beachfront setting provides kids with a constantly changing environment to explore, where shifting tides, sea creatures, and weather become integral to the learning experience. Daily rotations keep the pace lively and engaging, ensuring that no two days feel exactly alike. The long-standing traditions and returning staff create a sense of continuity and community that many campers eagerly anticipate year after year. All of these elements come together to create a warm, energetic, and enriching environment ideally suited for children who love the ocean, the outdoors, and imaginative play.

KG Beach Camps offers lunch options for its full-day campers. On Thursdays, lunch is provided for all full-day campers. For other days, families have the option to order Chick-fil-A on Wednesdays and Fridays, and Ballpark Pizza on Tuesdays. Campers should bring their own snack each day.
Safety is a top priority at KG Beach Camps. All counselors are certified in CPR and First Aid and are experienced with boating and water-based activities. The camp runs on a structured rotation system, ensuring proper supervision whether campers are kayaking, playing on the beach, or sailing. The staff-to-camper ratio and daily check-in make it a reliable and caring setting for both parents and kids.
KG Beach Camps fosters traditions rooted in ocean exploration and creative play. Each week is shaped by a theme that ties together activities like tide-pool adventures, crab hunts, water games, and a weekly catamaran or boating outing. The rhythm of beach games, crafts, and natural discovery is rooted in decades of camp history, giving repeat campers a deep sense of connection and returning families a familiar, welcoming culture.
KG Beach Camps offers a dynamic, water-centered program where campers spend their time alternating between structured adventures and free play at the beachfront. Mornings often feature ocean-based activities like sailing, kayaking or tide-pool exploration, while afternoons mix in beach games, crafts and on-shore discovery. The program encourages both skill development (such as rowing or paddleboarding) and relaxation or creative play. Half-day options allow younger kids to ease into the camp experience, while full-day campers benefit from more extended engagement with staff-led water trips and beach exploration.
Camp runs weekly and registration is required in advance. Camp fills quickly, so early booking is highly recommended.
